What’s New in Pinbly: Custom Markers, Smart Filters, and Bulk Import
We've been heads-down building the features you've been asking for. Here's everything new in Pinbly — from custom map markers to smarter filters and a completely redesigned analytics dashboard.
We’ve been busy. Over the past few months, we’ve shipped a wave of updates based directly on what you — our users — have been asking for. Here’s a rundown of everything that’s new.
Custom Map Markers
Your store locator should look like your brand, not a generic mapping tool. You can now upload custom map markers — your logo, category-specific icons, or any image you want — to replace the default pins.
Use different markers for different location types (flagship stores, service centers, pop-up events) so customers can visually distinguish between them at a glance.
Smart Filters
Customers can now filter your locations by any attribute you define. Drive-through? Wheelchair accessible? Open on weekends? Offers catering? Create custom filter options in your dashboard and they’ll appear automatically in your locator widget.
Filters are fully customizable — you choose the labels, icons, and default state. On mobile, they collapse into a clean dropdown to save space.
Redesigned Bulk Import
Managing hundreds of locations just got dramatically easier. The new bulk import tool accepts CSV files with automatic column mapping, validation, and error reporting. Upload your spreadsheet, review the preview, and import — all in under a minute.
We’ve also added bulk update support. Need to change holiday hours for all 50 locations? Export, edit in your spreadsheet tool, re-import. Done.
Analytics Dashboard 2.0
The analytics dashboard has been completely redesigned. You can now see:
- Search volume by location — which stores get the most interest
- Search origin heatmap — where your customers are searching from
- “Get Directions” conversion rate — what percentage of searches result in action
- Filter usage — which filters customers use most (so you know what matters to them)
- Underserved areas — zip codes with high search volume but no nearby stores
All data is exportable. Use it for quarterly business reviews, marketing planning, or expansion analysis.
Location Page Improvements
Auto-generated location pages now include:
- Richer structured data (LocalBusiness schema with expanded properties)
- Photo galleries for each location
- Embedded Google reviews (when available)
- Custom descriptions per location
- Breadcrumb navigation for better SEO
Performance Improvements
Under the hood, we’ve made significant performance improvements:
- Map load time reduced by 40%
- Search results now appear in under 200ms
- Mobile performance score improved from 72 to 94 (Lighthouse)
- Reduced JavaScript bundle size by 35%
What’s Coming Next
We’re already working on the next wave of features, including:
- Multi-language support for international brands
- Appointment booking integration
- Real-time inventory display (“Is this product available at my nearest store?”)
- Enhanced accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.2 AA)
